Eluna Kitchen
A recipe book and a calorie diary that finally agree with each other.
Most calorie apps ask you to guess. Eluna Kitchen counts: every number comes from the grams in the pot, matched against the USDA food database, and the app shows what the number was built from. It holds 3,132 recipes from 35 cuisines, knows what is in your fridge, and writes the shopping list itself. No account, no ads, nothing to subscribe to โ it all sits on your own phone.
Numbers with a source
- Calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and fibre computed ingredient by ingredient from 6,124 foods
- Per serving or per 100 g, with the arithmetic shown rather than asserted
- An estimate says it is an estimate โ no photograph is ever asked to do the counting
Cook from what you already have
- Tell the app what is in the fridge and it shows the dishes you can make today
- Each one says what is missing, and how that fits the calories left in your day
- Cook it and the ingredients come off the shelf by weight, on their own
3,132 recipes, 35 cuisines
- Filter by time, calories, protein, fibre, course and diet โ all on the device
- Step-by-step cooking with timers that keep running while the app is in the background, and a screen that does not go dark
- Your own recipes live beside the rest and are counted the same way
A diary nobody has to keep
- One tap logs the dish you cooked, in the portions you actually ate
- A daily target worked out from height, weight, age and activity โ or typed in yourself
- Calories by day, weight by week, and an average that does not lie about the days you skipped
A week decided in five minutes
- Plan the meals by day; the shopping list fills itself from the plan
- Only what is missing, by weight โ tick it off and it moves into the fridge
- Leftovers find their next dish instead of their next bin
Barcodes without a signal
- Packaged food by country, from Open Food Facts, downloaded on request
- Afterwards the scanner works offline โ basement supermarkets included
- Nothing about what you scan is sent anywhere
Kept to yourself
- No account, no server of ours, no analytics โ the diary is a database on your phone
- 60 languages, and the recipe corpus comes translated, not machine-rendered on the fly
- The cloud copy is optional and off until you switch it on: encrypted with your password before it leaves the phone
Questions
Where do the calories come from?
From the grams in the recipe, matched against the USDA food database. Nothing is guessed from a photograph, and every dish shows what its number was built from.
Do I have to weigh everything?
No. Cook a recipe and one tap logs it in the portions you actually ate; the grams are already in the recipe.
Does the barcode scanner need the internet?
No. You download the packs for the countries you shop in, and the scanner then works offline โ in a basement supermarket as well as anywhere else.
Does it work offline?
Yes, entirely. The recipe corpus and the food data ship with the app; the internet is only for updating them.
Is it free?
Yes. No ads, no subscription, no locked features โ the optional tip unlocks nothing, because nothing is locked.
